According to the signed transaction deal on Monday 30.11.2020, Kuoreveden Sähkö Oy has purchased a portion of Leppäkoski Group Oy’s owned Suomen Voima’s shares. Before this transaction deal, Kuoreveden Sähkö and Suomen Voima have already been sharing a common ownership of the hydropower company SV Vesivoima Oy. Therefore, the total amount of shareholders of Suomen Voima grows to 17.
“Through this transaction, Kuoreveden Sähkö joins Suomen Voima’s strategy of pursuing carbon dioxide free power production. It is great to hear that, in addition to our mutual hydropower projects, Kuoreveden Sähkö is eager to develop both Suomen Voima’s and Puhuri Oy’s wind power projects with us, including other renewable energy projects, such as the Nordfuel project in Haapavesi”, states Suomen Voima’s CEO Antti Vilkuna.
“We have already for a long time established our power procurement in carbon dioxide free power production. Our 10 years of co-operation with Suomen Voima has been excellent and we share similar targets when it comes to renewable power production. On this basis, it felt natural to join Suomen Voima as a shareholder when the opportunity emerged. We are glad that we were welcomed as a new owner of Suomen Voima”, comments Kuoreveden Sähkö’s CEO Tero Karhumäki.
